​With over 35 years of experience in his field, Dr. O'Connor is a Beta Sigma Kappa honors graduate from the University of Michigan and the Illinois College of Optometry. He has also served as the director of the eye clinic of the Naval Regional Medical Center - California Branch Clinic. He is a member of the American Optometric Association, the California Optometric Association, the Los Angeles County Optometric Society and the American Diabetes Association.

Dr. O'Connor has served as the President of the Malibu Chamber of Commerce, as the President of the Malibu Optimist Club and as the Charmian of the Crest Advisory Board of Pepperdine University. He is the recipient of the Oly Tegner Award for Outstanding Volunteer Service, the Malibu Businessperson of the Year, as well as the Marchon Eyewear International Five-Diamond Award for Distinguished Excellence.

His practice offers the most advanced Marco Epic 5100 refraction system, the Optos digital retinal scanner, and a state-of-the art Nidek precision edging laboratory. He also offers cataract and laser eye surgery consultation and comanagement services, cosmetic opthalmologic services such as botox and juviderm, as well as surgical eyelid evaluations (blepharoplasty). Dr. O'Connor also specializes in the treatment of a wide variety of eye diseases, and offers extensive contact lens fitting and dispensing services.
